| <<< | Sun on skin and a deep blue sea stretching out to the horizon
- to mark the start of the summer season, James Last sends his German fans
sunny greetings from Florida, the place he has chosen to live. Ocean Drive - Easy Living (Polydor) is the title of his new album with 16 tracks, which sounds almost as though it were created for a warm sunny day. For the new album, James Last, originally from Bremen but now resident in Florida, has arranged or composed lots of new songs and recorded them with the excellent musicians in his orchestra. Once more, the successful composer, arranger and musician proves his skill with regard to the selection of tracks. Famous worldwide, the James Last melodies and evergreens form an exciting mixture. Holiday, sun, "Easy Living" The new LP - nobody can actually say which number album project in the
many decades of the James-Last-story - was created within the framework
of a Radio Bremen TV special, which accompanies the "Gentleman Of
Music" and his wife on a tour through Miami. Filming took place in
the unique Art Déco quarter in Miami Beach, in Domino Park in Little
Havanna and on "Hansi's" favourite golf course in West Palm
Beach. Master Last's latest work is a successful mixture of music ranging from
easy listening to salsa, a mixture of brand new and internationally known
songs, a light and sweet cocktail not only for summer evenings. Melodies from the TV series "Miami Vice" ("Crockett's
Theme" and "Miami Vice Theme") enrich the CD as well as
Irving Berlin's unforgettable "Blue Skies" or the "Orange
Blossom Special" by Erwin T. Rouse. On the musical journey through
Miami, the "cruise capital of the world", one melody, which
is representative of the unbelievable success and the popularity of the
composer James Last, is admittedly not to be missed out: the song from
the very popular ZDF series Das Traumschiff. The "Caribbean theme"
on Ocean Drive - Easy Living, is the first melody from the series to be
recorded in a long time. "Non Stop Dancing" was yesterday. In
spring 2001 dreaming is order of the day - non stop goes without saying.
Dancing will be back in autumn, when James Last's next CD with ABBA hits
will be out in record stores. James Last's musical declaration of love to Miami will be broadcast on 14 May. The TV special can also be seen on 17 May 2001 at 8.15 pm on ARD.
