With over 80 million records sold,
James Last is one of the most successful German show stars and one of the
few German stars to have reached worldwide fame and popularity. On 17 April
2004, he will celebrate his 75th birthday. After such a long period in the
music business, few other German artists can claim to remain so 'up to date'
and to close the gap between traditional and modern music. As a gift to
his loyal fans and for all the new followers of his music, the 'best of'
album "Gold" will be released. The compilation comprises 20 titles,
including the world famous "Biscaya", "Der einsame Hirte"
("The Lonely Shepherd"), and much loved TV theme tunes such as
"The Love Boat" and "Lara's Theme". It also includes
a selection of many famous English songs, such as "Viva Espana",
"Moonlight Serenade", "The Pearl Fisher" and "Spanish
Eyes".
In keeping with other "Gold" 'best of' compilations (e.g. ABBA
and The Carpenters), the CD includes a well-designed 12 page booklet with
exclusive liner notes, many photos, and further interesting information
about the life and achievements of the artist. |
